Founders’ Day is our commemoration of Dr. Bob’s sobriety date\, June 10th 1935.  And this year is the 50th anniversary of our Santa Clara County Central Office! We will hear about the history of AA in our county as well as of AA as a whole. You can test your knowledge during the AA trivia game and enjoy some birthday cake and coffee. Raffle prizes! Archives! DESCRIPTION:Chili Cookoff 2025 QRJoin us at the 18th annual “Battle of the Homegroups” on Saturday\, April 25th. A chance to have some fun being judgmental by tasting chili from our participating teams and voting for the winner. Enjoy some chips\, cornbread\, and a root beer float\, listen to our speaker\, and try to win the 50/50 raffle. After expenses are paid\, all proceeds go to support AA in Santa Clara County. \nIf you’re unable to attend\, please consider donating a ticket or two to someone who is unable to afford it. DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, October 11th\, 2025 will be the annual Take Your Sponsor to Brunch event\, where we get to honor those people who guide us through the Steps\, share their experience in applying the Steps and Traditions to their lives\, and show us what unconditional love and acceptance looks like. Wow\, we are fortunate to have them! \nPlease join us to show our appreciation from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm at the 1st Congregational Church\, at the corner of Leigh and Hamilton Avenues in Campbell. Doors open at 10\, find a seat\, then food service goes from 10:30 to 12:00. \nThere will be plenty of good food\, two 20-minute speakers\, some raffle prizes–including the always popular 50-50 raffle– and lots of your program friends to enjoy. \nPURCHASE YOUR TICKETS AHEAD OF TIME from your Intergroup Rep\, at Central Office\, or by using the QR code on the flyer (electronic ticket). This helps us purchase and prepare the right amount of food.   \nAs always\, your help is needed\, so get involved and get on the service team. DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, June 21st \n4pm to 10 pm \n1st Congregational Church\, corner of Hamilton and Leigh\, Campbell \nJoin us in celebrating the 90th anniversary of Alcoholics Anonymous’ founding! This milestone marks the incredible journey since Dr. Bob achieved sobriety on June 10th and collaborated with Bill W in 1935\, establishing the foundation of 12-Step recovery.\n \nJoin us on Saturday\, June 21st\, from 4 PM to 10 PM at the 1st Congregational Church\, located at the corner of Hamilton and Leigh in Campbell.  \nThe event will feature two insightful speakers\, AA Trivia\, group games\, raffle prizes\, a 50/50 raffle (bring cash!)\, a delicious BBQ dinner\, and a dance! Enjoy fun\, food\, and fellowship with fellow AA members. And yes\, you can come and go\, but need a wristband for dinner and dancing. \nTo ensure this event remains self-supporting\, we suggest a $20 donation. After covering expenses\, all proceeds will benefit our Santa Clara County Intergroup Central Office. Pre-purchase online to receive an electronic ticket\, or a paper ticket from your Intergroup representative. This helps us anticipate number of people attending. SUMMARY:17th Annual Chili Cookoff - Battle of the Homegroups!
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe 17th Annual Chili Cookoff is happening on Saturday\, April 26th\, 2025\, 10 am to 12:30 pm. This event is to promote AA unity by encouraging homegroup meeting fellowship with a healthy and delicious competition! \nBoth physical (paper) and electronic tickets will be available for a suggested donation of $15.  See your Intergroup Representative or scan the QR code found on the flyer and on the www.aasanjose.org/events webpage. Paper tickets will be available through your IG Rep and at Central Office. After costs are met\, all proceeds go to IG Central Office. \nThere will be 18 slots for homegroups for the chili competition. Other groups are needed to bring cornbread or garlic bread. Chili teams are given $150 for supplies; other teams are reimbursed for cornbread supplies. **Team signups start also on March 26th by email only.  There will be an organizational meeting of team leaders 2 weeks before the event-you will be contacted with details. \nHelp from teams or individuals for decorations and cleanup is also needed.  Email events@aasanjose.org.  Call or text Intergroup Activities Chair Lisa at 408-807-4443.
