Security & Privacy Considerations
Members may use Contributions Online with confidence from a personal computer that they own or completely control. However, entering confidential personal and/or financial information on a public or shared computer can pose security risks including the possibility of fraud and theft of identity. The term Public or Shared Computer refers to computers in libraries, hotel business centers, internet cafés and even computers owned by friends or acquaintances. Furthermore, workplace computers though safe may be subject to employer monitoring and recording of computer usage.
Intergroup Central Office strongly discourages the use of Contributions Online from a public or workplace computer and suggests instead that members using computers in such locations continue to make their contributions to Central Office through the traditional telephone or postal mail methods. The way certain information is handled by your web browser and by Contributions Online depends upon the specific browser you use. For information about how your specific browser handles frequently used data fields you should refer to the appropriate section in your browser’s “Help” menu.
Saving your Payment Information for Future Use
To save time, members may optionally create an account when checking out. By default, this saves the information in the Billing Details section (name, address, phone) for future use. To enable this, check the “Create Account” checkbox at the end of the Billing Details section and choose a password.
Additionally, members may choose to save their credit card for future use. To enable this, check the “Securely Save to My Account” checkbox at the end of the Credit Card section.
