Service

Service is an important part of recovery, it can help keep you sober. There are a number of great ways to get into service in our area. For the dates, times, and locations of our various Service Committees, including those not listed here, please see our Calendar.

Intergroup and Central Office Service

  • Outreach Volunteers
    Intergroup’s liaison with groups and meetings
    Sobriety requirement: one year
    Term: open, but at least one year
    Meets 1st Wednesday each month at 6:45PM

  • Diverter Volunteers
    Providing after-hours phone coverage
    Sobriety requirement: one year
    Term: open, but at least one year
    Meets 3rd Saturday each month at 10:00AM

  • 12 Step Volunteers
    Phone and visitation contact with callers in need
    Sobriety requirement: one year
    Term: open, but at least one year
    Meets 3rd Saturday each month at 10:00AM

  • Daytime Phone Volunteers
    Takes all incoming calls to Hotline
    Sobriety requirement: two years

  • Newsletter Volunteer
    Help prepare our monthly newsletter

    Term: two years preferred
  • Activities Committee
    Organize many great activities
    Sobriety requirement: 2 years
    Term: 2 years
  • Technology Committee
    To make sure we all get the word
    Sobriety requirement: one year for the chair, but membership is open to all.
    Term: open, but at least one year
  • Website Committee
    Help with current and future website needs
    Sobriety requirement: one year for the chair, but membership is open to all.
  • Home Group Service

In addition to the regular group positions of Meeting Secretary, Treasurer, Literature Coordinator, and Clean-Up, there are several positions that help integrate your group with the larger service structure.

  • Intergroup Representative (IGR)
    Represents the group at the Intergroup meetings and reports to the group
    Sobriety requirement: varies, usually one or two years
    Term: two years
    Meets 1st Wednesday each month at 7:30PM (New IGR’s 6:30PM)
